“Ugh…I need to be out there. This dumb reflection in the glass” I said. To myself I thought “It’s too cold to go outside.”
“Go out there then” she responded. “Put your boots on and go out there.”
So I did.
Destined for my spring saw, standing in glory on a brisk winter morning, soon but a shadow.
Snow falls miles from the sky and lands perfectly on the slightest of branches.
The trials of winter are no match for natural strength beauty and resolve.
Beauty pervades in the desert of winter. Just narrow your focus.
Pond thistle sporting the season’s latest fashion.
All the cathedral my spirit need lay before me.
I walked through the wood and found I was no longer alone.
A thorn in winter. Far from hiding in the green blanket of long summer days. Silvery and exposed.
It is more than an accumulation of assembled board, glass and metal. It is life’s alchemy. A vessel for memories. A home.
Hopefully by sharing these with you, your day is a little more enjoyable.
